ROLE PURPOSE

The Finance Officer is to base with the GTACC project to support the GTACC project manager and Finance and Grants Coordinator in managing and administering the financial activity and function in the project level. He/she is responsible for the day-to-day financial transaction according to the defined finance and administration policy and procedure to ensure smooth operations of the GTACC project and any action needed is taken in timely manner.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist in preparation of budgets
• Provide support to the finance project team and the support team.
• Prepare a consolidated financial monthly report and sent to Project Manager for approval before sending to Country office Manager/ Pacific Hub
• Prepare and update office running costs tracker by monthly
• Assist PISI Grant & Finance Coordinator in reviewing project budget and monthly cash forecast and other financial related work.
• Managing records and receipts and updating it to the SAP system.
• Provide continuous supports to implementing partners in order to make sure all the systems and procedures are in line with the donor requirement and Plan standard requirements
• Assist in the planning, organization and execution of the statutory requirements and audit process for the office in coordination with the PISI Grant & Finance Coordinator and GTACC project Manager.

REQUIREMENT (QUALIFICATION, TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE)
Essential

  • Qualification in Accounting and finance from recognised institution
  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience in accounting and finance
  • Good command of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Access, and Power Point)
  • Knowledge and understanding humanitarian operating context
  • Ability to maintain high level of accuracy in preparing financial reports
  • Knowledge of managing cash/bank accounts
  • Ability to work under pressure, as part of a team or independently, and meet deadline consistently.
  • Good communication and coordination skill with the program staff.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.

Location: Honiara Solomon Islands
Type of Role: Full Time: duration 3 years
Reports to: Grants and Finance Coordinator and GTACC Project Manager
Grade/Salary: $73,000 -$100,000 per annum
Eligibility: Open to Solomon Island Citizen.
